Swank Capital
The Cushing® Indices | About
Our proprietary fundamental methodologies seek to identify performance and opportunity.
Swank Capital has developed two indices used by financial advisors and investors to evaluate risk, performance and growth characteristics of MLP investments. In our opinion, the Cushing® Indices are premier benchmarks for the MLP asset class.
The Cushing® 30 MLP Index (MLPX) is an equally weighted benchmark for the MLP asset class that is focused on total return.
The Cushing® MLP High Income Index (MLPY) incorporates a broader base of higher-yielding MLPs utilizing a proprietary tiered methodology for security selection. It seeks to generate income at higher levels than the MLP total return indices.
We use fundamental metrics in selecting constituents of both indices. Constituents are then equally weighted. Our equal weighting approach embraces diversification, allows dollar cost averaging, and seeks to mitigate risks associated with stock concentration.
We believe that fundamentals drive stock performance. Swank Capital's proprietary methodologies quantify the fundamentals associated with individual MLP securities and enable The Cushing® Indices to identify what we believe to be the healthiest MLP companies positioned for continued growth and income.
Serious investors rely on fundamentals. Research, experience and rigorous analysis are fundamental to Swank Capital's MLP asset management philosophy.
